Student Volunteers

Volunteering for ages 16 and up

  • Leadership is a quality that we encourage at Sumner Teen Center.  High School and College students can earn service hours by leading an arts and crafts project, cleaning up at the center, or even leading a cooking class.  Students can also start a club (academic, athletic, or skill related) and earn ongoing hours.  Did you learn a fun group game at summer or church camp…share it with us.

  • Tutor a younger student – Math, Science, History, and English leaders needed to meet 1-4 times a month for a minimum service of 1 hour.  (Written recommendation from a teacher is required)

  • We love to celebrate! Student leaders are needed to plan and organize celebrations and parties at STC. Involves creating a theme (movie, music, holiday, or event), planning a menu, creating a social network invite, and spreading the word. You can earn up to 8 hours and have a great time doing it! (Must meet at the center once a month to plan with committee)

  • Giving Back is essential at Student Teen Center! Organize a community give-back and earn up to 8 hours of service. If you have a project that helps those in need, from knitting booties for new moms in need or picking up trash at your favorite park, let’s make it happen. Student Teen Center will help with meeting space, transportation and promoting your event.  You have the power to change the world and we’ll help you make a difference.
